Allowing One Door to Close so Another May Open
After a slow and regressive year, the energy should pick up in the remaining months as we attempt to spin off the old parts of our lives and attract new opportunities. And yes, we must let go of the outdated situations, beliefs and relationships that cannot come forward with us.
But first, there is a bit of a walk down a wistful memory lane when Saturn retrogrades back into Pisces for the last time. We won't be travelling this path for another 30 years. And no matter how depressing Saturn can be, there is also a sense that it's time to move on as a new lesson and adventure will await us next year.
Uranus also retrogrades on Sept 6th so some of the chaos and disruption may subside in terms of communication snafus and acceleration of technology.
We also will be visited with two eclipses this month, a lunar one on Sept 7th (which squares the degrees of 9/11) and the final in a trio of similar eclipses of Virgo/Pisces on Sept 21st. Once we've distilled and released situations that are no longer relevant, we can sense a lifting of stagnant energy.
Virgo energy is prominent this month and it's most useful manifestation is practicing discernment in all your dealings. What is useful, essential and finetuned is preferable to abstract, diffuse and "pie in the sky" thinking.
Mars moving into Scorpio deepens the process and we may confront our "nemesis" when he squares Pluto on Sept 24th and 25th. If you are overpowered, best to walk away than to fight an unwinnable battle (at present).
So back to school is also back to work on deconstructing our lives in ways that will make us more ready and streamlined to enter the new year.
Saturn retrograding back into Pisces on Sept 2nd
what really needs to go
Saturn slinks back into Pisces for the last time on Sept 2nd. The planet of responsibility and karma had already ventured into Aries in May and will return there for its full 2 1/2 cycle in February 2026.
As Saturn will be passing back through the last degrees of Pisces, there is an "end of the world weariness" feeling to events. And this is metaphorically or metaphysically true as Pisces is the end of the zodiac, the culmination of all that is.
We are poised for a new dream next year and may have already built out the contours of it or considered changes over the last few months.
But we must revisit the swamp and confusion/dissolution that gave way to the new dream. This last tour through Pisces will give us the chance to let go of the past and false hopes and starts. After the mourning, we will rise anew.
Where are we being forced to face our own illusions?

VIRGO - our partner's reliability
LIBRA - the benefit (or deficit) of our work
SCORPIO - failed romances, false creative starts
SAGITTARIUS - the security of our original home
CAPRICORN - our reminiscences of childhood
AQUARIUS - our recognition of our talents or lack thereof
PISCES - our sense of self
Uranus retrograde in early Gemini Sept 6th
a pause in the technological advance
With the onramping of AI, many of us may be forced to learn new skills. Of what nature, hard to say. Certainly work that involves front-facing with people and the caring professions will continue to be needed and sought out.
The techno optimists believe that many new jobs will arise out of this technological shift, but they are likely to be delusion (and seeking profit) regarding these claims.
Nevertheless, when Uranus comes around, in the sign of Gemini, new inventions and ways to communicate are front and center.
Since the recent ingress into the sign is so fresh and new, we may not yet know what the next 8 year of Uranus in Gemini will bring. But if sensitive enough, we know that we will need to adjust to a new economic and social model.
Where will we be forced to make some changes?
ARIES - in how you communicate daily, in your neighborhood
TAURUS - in determining what bring you security
GEMINI - you, of most signs, will adapt to the changes most readily and may find your true calling
CANCER - in letting go of old fears and childhood fantasies
LEO - in your peer group, vision of your future
VIRGO - in your professional life
LIBRA - in expanding your philosophical world views
SCORPIO - in handling money with others
SAGITTARIUS - in the type of partner you will attract
CAPRICORN - in your health habits
AQUARIUS - in your creative projects
PISCES - in your actual home life, or an eventual move
Lunar Eclipse 15 Pisces Sept 7th (squaring 9/11 energy)
balancing the spiritual with the material
We will experience two eclipses this month with the first appearing on Sept 7th, right after the Uranus station.
The degrees of this lunar ending eclipse square the transits of 9/11 when the world changed irrevocably. That is a long time ago. and depending on your age may be irrelevant to the course of your life.
But yet, the undertone of life becoming uncontrollable is present and with this eclipse being in the signs of Virgo and Pisces, we must learn to surrender to outer forces.
And where will these forces mark a change for you?
ARIES - in balancing fantasy with reality
TAURUS - in deciding where you put your energy, in your personal or professional life
GEMINI - father/parent dynamics
CANCER - immature views of life
LEO - relationships and money
VIRGO - how you act in relationships
LIBRA - control vs. release
SCORPIO - in the necessity to bring your visions into reality
SAGITTARIUS - in establishing your career
CAPRICORN - in revisiting your childhood with a clear lens
AQUARIUS - getting serious about finances
PISCES - changing your relationship patterns
Mercury into Libra (opposing Saturn/ Neptune conjunction) Sept 19th
social constructs vs raw power
As we approach the Saturn/Neptune conjunction coming exact on Feb 20th, 2026, we will have myriad opportunities to make adjustments in our thinking and acting.
Mercury entering Libra on September 19th will immediately oppose the retrograding Saturn/Neptune aspect, prompting us to find ways to communicate our need for art, beauty and relationship.
The Saturn/Neptune conjunction however, is not that interested in "civilized" thinking, as can perhaps be noted when Mars opposed this combination last month.
In the years ahead, courage and directness will have greater value than diplomacy that is not grounded in strength. I.e. anything superficial will not hold.
Where will we once again realize that nicety is not enough in the fierce times ahead? Will you be the fighter or the collaborator with the powers that be?
Where will you notice that cleverness or appeasement are not enough?
ARIES - you are the power house here and have no patience for small talk
TAURUS - conversation and compliments are irrelevant when you feel the grand dread of major change
GEMINI - sure, a romantic text is fine, but the world is ending now and you must get to work in building a new one
CANCER - mom is dithering while dad is planning for professional disaster
LEO - your friends are caught up with gossip while you are locked in deep thought
VIRGO - even if you're making some money, is it enough to take care of you when things go south?
LIBRA - you try to lift or distract your partner's spirits, but they are intent on fighting the big fight
SCORPIO - you can fantasize happy thoughts but you know your work and daily life will be changing dramatically
SAGITTARIUS - instagram does not delight in the way that deep spiritual or creative conversations do
CAPRICORN - your boss is whistling (fake) happy tunes but you know the other shoe is about to drop
AQUARIUS - lightweight spiritual phrases do nothing to explain or dismiss the dread that has taken over your psyche
PISCES - even sex or thoughts of money do not dispel the notion that you must find ways to survive in the new economy
Solar eclipse 29 Virgo Sept 21st
clarifying the task up ahead
On Sept 21st, the last of three recent eclipses in Virgo/Pisces brings some resolution to an overarching story that we have been living with for the past year. We experienced a similar eclipse energy this year on March 14th and last fall on Sept 18th.
If older, we also encountered a similar eclipse back in Sept 2016. What themes, if any were present in all these timelines?
The stories will be different based on what house the eclipses falls in for you, but it is likely that there are some distant threads to events not only in 2016 but also back when Pluto was leaving Sagittarius and trending into Capricorn in 2008.
As the solar eclipse occurs at the last degree of Virgo, we can feel like we're being asked to pass an exam. And to some degree this is true. The Virgo Sun is opposed to the ongoing Saturn/Neptune conjunction of dissolution and rebuilding. At eclipse time, we may be pressured to create a necessary boundary or end in a situation that has gone on past its due date. By doing so, you will be ending some very old patterns regarding service, unbalanced power dynamics and over reliance on unnecessary protocol.
Where can we expect a new beginning if we let the old situation simply leave our life?
ARIES - a functioning work life and space, stop fussing, you've got the business down pat now
TAURUS - renewed creative output, finish or drop a project that has plagued you
GEMINI - a more solid homelife, you've discovered your rightful place
CANCER - greater seriousness of thought and speech, you no longer doubt your intelligence
LEO - making solid money, you're developing a new skill set
VIRGO - appreciating yourself and your abilities, you recognize the futility of seeking "perfection"
LIBRA - stop fretting about irrelevant issues, they will sort themselves out regardless
SCORPIO - working to help others, giving instead of withholding
SAGITTARIUS - a professional revival, you've dropped the drudgery and sought new inspiration
CAPRICORN - a working life philosophy, you've let go of conventional thinking and judgement
AQUARIUS - better financial relations/long term goals, you're building your future
PISCES - new partnerships, these will be more equal in their give and take
This solar eclipse is just one more indicator that you have grown from previous situations or relationships and you can actually let go of the worry, neurosis, ambivalence that may have plagued you regarding the issues above.
If necessary, be kind and loving to self, especially if mourning "what has been". We will have a few more months to reminisce and self-soothe if necessary but once the new year begins, sit's all cylinders go to a new chapter and a new world. Release the attachment and you will be ready for the next adventure in this area of life.
Mars into Scorpio Sept 23rd squaring Pluto Sept 24th and 25th
highlighting the struggles up ahead
The next few months will be quite eventful both personally and globally. Many old systems must fall away and be regenerated into new ones, if possible.
Scorpio energy is very adept at "killing off the past" and we will need this intensity to deal with the "destruction" up ahead.
When Mars squares Pluto on the 24th and 25th of the month, we get a sense of where the battles against unnecessary technological overreach will play out. And personally, even if we don't win in an unfair encounter, we will fight admirably in the process (as long as we don't fight dirty).
Where is the conflict between our emotional needs and cold hard technology to occur?
ARIES - in order to find intimacy, we may be required to be online
TAURUS - your partner is angered by professional restrictions/power plays
GEMINI - you feel stressed and your usual form of meditation doesn't seem to work (or you will have to visit with a virtual therapist or health care provider).
CANCER - romance maybe stymied when talk of money comes up
LEO - you'd like more support, but right now partner is addicted to social media
VIRGO - some creative ideas are squashed by AI
LIBRA - your feeling sexy but you may be met with automated responses from a partner
SCORPIO - you are hot but the homelife is cold and impersonal
SAGITTARIUS - your thoughts go very deep (and potentially dark) but when expressed, are met with banal chatter
CAPRICORN - you feel a new goal developing but people are only looking at the financials
AQUARIUS - there is pressure to develop the career and you may be distracted by technology
PISCES - you feel passionate about your beliefs but feel the "human" world is slipping away
These themes of humanity vs. cyborg, natural vs. automated, emotional vs. detached will be ones we will be dealing with over the next 20 years as Pluto moves through Aquarius. Each time we encounter a bit of friction, it's an opportunity, if not a pain, to notice where our human nature is being pushed aside in favor of a digitized future.
