Assessing Our Roles in a Changing Landscape
Last month's multipronged astrology set in motion a new dharmic path and we have entered an entirely new chapter that will be more proactive, abundant and creative.
With Jupiter recently ensconced in Leo (July 1st), Leos and all fire signs are in an upward cycle regarding opportunities and self esteem. The Sun travelling with Jupiter the 1st week in August gives everyone a boost of confidence and/or recognition. Some may slip into recklessness or narcissism, but for the majority of us, we will relish the newfound sense of temporary optimism.
The Nodes, just having moved into Aquarius/Leo late last month, are hovering very slowly over the last degree of these signs. 29 degrees is called an anoretic degree and it has a lot of power in changing the predominant frequencies. It marks a transition period totally distinct from the past.
Venus enters Libra on August 7th and then opposes Neptune in Aries on Aug 11th so perhaps a dream is either realized or deflated. Yet something positive and unexpected emerges out of it when Venus sextiles Gemini the following day, Aug 12th.
Mars will move into Cancer on August 12th with Ceres following the next day and the focus will be on rest and relaxation with loved ones. Many people take their summer vacations early in June so even though we're in the "lazy hazy days of summer", there is an emphasis on already getting back to work and school, as well as preparations for fashion shows and award seasons.
This month we are also visited by two eclipses. The first one on Aug 12th is a solar one at 20 Leo. We may be able to advance prospects that arrived in February of this year while also possibly referencing or moving forward from eclipses in 2018 and 2019. Because the Sun is conjoined to the South Node, we may globally witness a short disruption of leadership or "eclipsing" of the old guard.
The second eclipse, a lunar ending one arrives at the end of the month, the 28th and will be close to wrapping up a cycle of sacrifice and illusion. The final one in this Virgo/Pisces series will occur on Feb 20, 2027 during a Mercury and Mars retrograde.
The Sun enters Virgo end of month on the 24th and then squares Uranus on the 29th so potentially some surprise or crazy-making before heading back to the official workday/school day grind.

While only a fraction of us are Leos, we can all experience the optimism and confidence of Leo when Jupiter and the Sun conjoin in the sign the first week in the month.
Considering the drama and chaos of last month, this energy is a welcome relief and escape from anxiety and fear of lack. The true Leo spirit is one of generosity and creativity due to the knowledge of one's direct connection to Source, i.e. the Sun.
Yes, the narcissistic version can occur as well but rather than focus on that all too common expression, the magnitude of the positive side of Leo can uplift and inspire us all.

Last month the nodes of karma/dharma moved from Virgo/Pisces to Leo/Aquarius. The North node of Aquarius now "demands' that we consider issues from a more humanitarian and less selfish perspective.
This is intensified by the small movement of the North Node on the anorectic (last degree) of Aquarius. The Nodes move backward in a sign and the last degree is the most potent of the sign.
Because of the nature of recent events and the sense that the world is falling apart, we must be especially clear in our thinking and view of creating the future. What serves the greater whole? My individual needs are less important that the changes and sacrifices necessary for the whole of humanity. Yes, this can devolve to unhealthy collectivism, but we are being invited to use our sharp intellects toward solving problems rather than falling in line with the latest groupthink position.

Venus, the planet connected to love, romance, art, creativity and money, is very much at home in the sign of Libra. Cooperation, sociability, diplomacy and civility all make the world a more elegant place.
Venus, especially in Libra, can be superficial or overly fixated on looks but in general, in a world that has become bland and ugly, Venus even in her flirtatious and superficial side, is a welcome energy.
Venus opposes Neptune in Aries on Aug 11th and perhaps a dream can come true or is revealed to be an illusion. Regardless of what transpires, Venus trining Uranus in Gemini the following day, the 12th, alights some novel solutions or suggestions that can make said vision possible.
Venus will be in Libra through mid September when she moves into Scorpio but due to a retrograde 10/3 - 11/14, she will retrograde back into Libra end of Oct through mid November.
So whatever begins now may have continuance or revision in the fall.

The second eclipse on the Leo/Aquarius axis occurs as a solar one on Aug 12th (the first one already happened this past February at 28 degrees Aquarius).

Because so much of the world is in chaos, we do need to focus on nurturing and recharging ourselves. Mars and Ceres travelling together in Cancer at the time of the solar eclipse also provide incentives to take care of ourselves through food, exercise and community.
Negatively, Mars and Ceres could bring up conflicts within families as to who needs or gives more when it comes to emotional support. And with the overarching Leo energy, of course the narcissists among us will demand first dibs.
Many illnesses arise out of a sedentary lifestyle so this planetary influence can get us up and running, or walking. Taking care of our original home (our body) supports us on all our endeavors and while this month may not be the most astrologically charged, it gives us time to integrate a new health routine.

While the nodes have left Virgo/Pisces last month, we will still experience several more eclipses in this sign pair. While much of the last year or so should have been focused on letting things go, we may not yet have had an opportunity to mourn what we thought "might have been".
Now we get to understand more clearly that our sacrifices did cost us something, whether time or money or emotional energy. This is not a criticism as the default for Virgo/Pisces would be to surrender or allow oneself to lose oneself to someone or something else.
But since we are now in a more active creating moment, the dreams and disappointments of the past need to be put to bed and this eclipse will likely help us in this regard.

A bit of lightning at the end of the month when the Sun in Virgo squares Uranus in Gemini on the 29th. Uranian aspects bring in surprises and quick reversals or accelerations. In this instance, unexpected news or opportunities can arrive and it is advised to consider what is on offer.
Alternatively, if a person, usually male is overly rigid or controlling, they may be shaken loose from your life. Whatever goes away on a Uranus transit is meant to liberate you so it's best to not try to hang out to whatever is being eliminated or discarded.
